Probably not what you were expecting, right? I’ve been craving sweet food all day today, which is unusual for me. I know it is definitely hormonal. I genuinely believe that you should honour your food cravings when you have them (especially if you don’t have cravings often) or else you’ll be unsatisfied with your meals.

I’ve noticed in the past that if I just eat anything sweet when I crave sweet things, my craving doesn’t necessarily go away. I actually have to set time aside to really think about what exactly I’m craving and then have that. It varies, sometimes, I want a baked sweet potato or dark chocolate or cake. Today I was craving something warm and very sweet, so I decided to make this bowl. The funny thing is that when I made it, my daughter said ’mmm…. mummy, cake, I want some’ lol! Looking at it, I understand why she thought it was cake. The oatmeal on the bottom could pass for flour, the yoghurt could pass for cream icing, and the fruit could pass for sugar. I actually made the oats with mashed overripe bananas, vanilla extract, almond milk and a pinch of cinnamon. The berry compote I made with mixed berries and agave. This bowl was really really sweet, but it was just what I needed. It hit the spot so good, my cravings were well and truly satisfied. #oatmealbowl #berrycompote #lunchbowl
