While protein bars are not a necessity, they can make for a convenient snack. Unfortunately a lot can be filled with unnecessary additives.

A few extra considerations in addition to what’s pictured:
• Many use sugar alcohols as a sweetener (such as sorbitol, mannitol, erythritol) which may cause IBS symptoms like wind, pain, bloating and diarrhoea in people who are sensitive to that group of ingredients.
• 200 calories is quite high for a snack for those trying to lose weight. Aim for 150 cals if this is you.
• 15g protein is a better aim for satiety but it can be difficult to get this much in 1 bar without going overboard on calories.

Check in with yourself to understand if this snack is satisfying for you, if it isn’t then whole food protein snacks are likely a better option.
