Okay my loves, it time for some raw truths! I’m going to start by apologising because it seems that lately, I’m constantly complaining about something. ?I feel the need, to be honest with you at all times to stay as authentic as possible. Hear me out please ??

I have been having severe trouble with my digestion. I have known for some time that I can only eat a certain amount of legumes. Above that and I’m in agony. The trouble is that lately, beans and lentils are not the only cause for concern. It has extended to vegetables and grains. ? I’ve never had problems with grains, so this is crazy weird for me. I’ve reduced my portion sizes a lot to see if that helps, but so far, I’m not getting much relief. ?

I had a lot of trouble sleeping last night because the bloating was so painful I ended up in tears. My skin is also very itchy right now – never had this in my life. I’ve been too scared to eat anything today because I’m not sure what will set me off.

People rarely share when they have issues with plant-based vegan diets. After speaking to a few of my vegan friends on IG, I realise I am not the only one struggling. My question is, how many of you are experiencing symptoms that you’re either too nervous or too shy to speak about. If we are supposed to be a community here, I think it is necessary for us to be honest so that people trying to transition into this lifestyle know what to expect, and people who are going through difficulty figure out ways to help themselves.

At this point, I think I have a yeast overgrowth from eating so much starch (I rarely eat refined sugar, so I’m sure it has got nothing to do with it). If you’re wondering, I do take probiotics, but it doesn’t seem to have helped. I will probably get some tests done to confirm my self-diagnosis.

Anyhow, please share, are you going through something similar? I have been eating this way for 2 and a half years now; I should be adapted to this lifestyle and not experiencing these problems ??‍♀

This is a bowl I made last week. CThe dressing is tahini-mustard ( 1 tbsp tahini, 1 tbsp white wine, 2 tbsp water, vinegar, 1 tsp dijon mustard, a pinch of garlic powder, pinch of salt to taste
